Getting off night shift

So, I'm going to be leaving the night shift...finally...whew...I have really missed sleeping at night. Unfortunately I have to leave my residence behind. I will be going to another facility to work. I will miss most of my people...not the ones that beat the holy crap out of me on a regular basis, but I'm positive I will become just as attached to my new ones as I was to my old ones. I will even learn their names. (hooray).
Anyways, just a quick update!!!!

Week over

The only thing I can say is, Thank goodness this week is over. It seems like it just kind of dragged on and on, but yet flew by like it was on a speeding train or something. I don't know...but I'm glad its over. Unfortunately though, due to the way things worked out, and all the trading I had to do to get certain days off this week, I ended up giving up all of my Saturdays off that I had this month. So for the rest of the month, I have to work, every single Saturday. (boo)

I've got a couple of new patterns in the works that I'm designing. I really want to be a serious professional crochet designer. I can tell you know for sure that I know its not going to be an easy road....but hopefully it will be a good road once I get down it....I will enjoy the bumps and turns of it all, b/c I will be going down it with a crochet hook in one hand, and yarn in the other!!!

Wow, so its like 6:00 AM, and DH is off to work, my pup is on the bed sound asleep with cartoons playing...(yes my dog watches cartoons), and all is well and silent in my world right now. Well with the exception of the washing machine, I did have to start some laundry. Its moment like this that I have time to sit back and reflect on stuff, and just relax and not let everything bother me.

I've been teaching one of the girls I work with how to Crochet. That has been lots of fun!!! I'm thinking its almost time for her to have another lesson. I'm thinking about getting her a book with easy to follow instructions so that she can learn how to read patterns. Maybe I'll teach her how to make a granny square next. Those are fun and easy. And are a great way to use up scrap yarn.

Well thats about it from here for now, I have a shelf I need to put together today that I talked the DH into getting me for my craft room, and lots and lots of laundry to do!!!

This is just part of my craft room...the knitting needles are in the living room though...LOL I truly truly need to get everything more together. (not sure that, that will EVER happen though.) Gonna talk the DH into getting me some more shelves today so I can get my room more together....

This is a cow I made for an exchange....please excuse my piled up mess on my side table...its actually full of crochet stuff!!! I have since de-cluttered that table!!!
This is the Baby Blanket I am working on knitting. So far its going really well. I'm absolutely in love with the yarn I'm using as well. I'll post more pics as I go. And yup I am using circular knitting needles.

This is the pile of star motifs I got done for the 2 American Flag afghans I'm making for my Dad and Father in law for Christmas. In the picture it looks like I used purple yarn, but I didn't...I couldn't get the flash to turn off for some reason on the camera at that point.

pictures finally

So this is the baby sweater set I did for my sister in law. I'm pretty proud of it. Its the first set of baby clothes I have ever made. I've made plenty of blankets, but never anything more. I think they turned out quite well!!!!
Nope, I'm not gonna get those pictures posted right now!!! (although I want to, and my camera is full of pics I need to post) I can't b/c I'm staying the night at my mom's tonight. It would seem I keep loosing Grandparents. My step grandmother passed away at 5:05 PM on Saturday evening. Its really kind of sad, but thankfully she had Hospice to help ease the way comfortably for her. She had cancer, and when she found out, it had progressed to far for anything to help. I'm just glad that she is out of her pain and misery now, b/c I'm pretty sure she was miserable with her pain.

On a light note....I have to say that it was really strange staying here tonight. After having lived at my own house, with my hubby, and my dog, and stuff, it was really weird, to sleep in the house I grew up in. My Step dad stayed with his dad tonight, so I slept with mom. Working nights I didn't sleep to long b/c I slept most of the day...so I crawled out of bed around 3:30, and quietly made my way to the kitchen where I poured myself a giant mug of coffee from the thermos, and then padded back here to the den where the computer has been for the last 6 or 7 years.

I was looking at another blog from crochet and more, and I must say that girl can crochet!!! She kind of makes me want to challenge myself to see what I can do and design. I think I'll try and get my pirate play set finished that I've been working on for over 2 years now!!! I think I will try and finish it up...well I guess today since its Sunday now. Frank (my DH) is going out with some friends today, so I think this would be the perfect day to get that finished. What I need to get finished is the pirate puppet that I was working on, and I'm thinking about designing a pirate ship...kind of like a pillow of sorts...maybe...I dunno...I also need to another Larry and Bob from Veggie Tales and get the pattern written down. I'm thinking about making a set for my cousin Mandi's little boys. I think that they would like them.

Well I guess thats it for now. I'm in need of another cup of coffee...and I think my mom's dog wants to go out, so I'll take care of that so she doesn't wake anybody up.

my knitting

Hey, So, I finally have learned to knit. I am so proud of myself I could burst!!! Right now I'm working on a baby blanket for my sister in law who is due in October. I decided if I'm going to jump in, I'd do it with both feet. I'm going to take pictures of it as it goes. Once I get a few more rows done, I'm going to go ahead and take a picture of it. I cannot believe how easy knitting actually is now that I'm getting into the swing of it. This fall one of the local yarn shops is having a beginners sock class in knitting and crochet. I think I'm going to take both of them. I'm pretty excited about it. I'm going to be heading over there on Saturday morning b/c I need another skein of yarn for this baby blanket, so I'm giong to see if they have figured out the dates yet. (I'm so excited!!!!)

But anyways!! I still have some Christmas stuff I have to finish up with the crochet as well, so It looks like I'm on hooks and needles right now!!!! (ha ha ha)
Anways, will be posting more soon!!!
